iloveheroes: (Hello there. Kaachan.)
Izuku is attacked by the sludge monster and All Might stops it. One change is Izuku catches the bottle before it falls out of All MIght's pocket. All Might tells Izuku he can't be a hero. Izuku tries to get into UA anyway, studying hard and working out. Ends up failing the entrance exam.

Izuku gets into a good school and starts throwing himself into his studies and his hobbies of hero notes. Giran notices him through a combination of Izuku being in the paper as the winner of an essay contest and observing him at hero sightings. Giran approaches him for an apprenticeship as an information broker. Figuring being an information broker would let him help heroes, he agrees. Only to find out his new boss is a villain broker.

Izuku too scared to back out starts taking notes on villains too, hoping he can use the information to his advantage one day. Izuku on the side ends up advertising tutoring on Quirks and School Subjects at UA and gets bites. This is how he meets Urararka, Iida, Momo, and a few others. During this time he meets Sen and the two start to bond too. The USJ happens but it's Izuku who sends word it's happening to the school through an anonymous source once he finds out from Giran.

Later Izuku meets the Hero Killer when Giran helps to find him so Shigaraki can meet him. Izuku ends up speaking to him before the meeting to learn more about this ex-vigilante. They bond over their respect for good heroes. Meeting happens and Izuku follows after Stain after. He finds Stain, Native, and Iida along with Sen who followed as well. Sen saves Iida and together they save Iida by convincing Stain it isn't right to kill a young hero. Native still dies as Izuku, realizing he can't be saved, asks Stain to make it quick as a lesson to Iida about what happens to bad heroes. The three escape together thanks to the Nomu attack. It's then Izuku asks Stain to let him help him. He will research bad heroes and give the information to Stain to help him fight better. In exchange, Stain will protect him from the villains and heroes. Stain agrees.

As things progress, Izuku realizes Giran is becoming suspicious of him leaking info to the heroes. Realizing he needs to get rid of Giran, he asks Stain to kill him. The two hide the death and Izuku takes over Giran's network as 'Deku', using the excuse Giran has gone underground for a time and he's filling in. It's at this point, videos and posts are released online explaining Stain's ideology and spreads his influence. Deku uses this to his advantage to gain followers through these posts; Toga, Dabi, Twice, and others. This keeps the League small and strangles their recruitment efforts.

All for One becomes sure Izuku is Deku, when the police raid the bar under an anonymous tip and capture Kurogiri. Shigaraki goes to Izuku's house and holds Midoriya Inko hostage. Izuku comes home, escorted by Stain, and finds his mom in danger. Izuku tries to plead with Shigaraki to leave his mom alone but he kills her anyway. Hearing his screams, Stain comes crashing through the window and slices off one of Shigaraki's hands. He licks his blood so he can slice off the other. One of Izuku's neighbors called the police and the medical personnel showed up quickly. Stain escaped out the back, leaving Izuku behind with the police. The official story becomes the villain invaded the house and killed Inko. Izuku defended himself with a found bloody kitchen knife.

The police try to find someone to call but Midoriya doesn't have any family. They end up calling a family friend Mitsuki Bakugo. She ends up going to the police station and Bakugo's dad goes home to tell his son the news. Deku stays with the Bakugos for a few days until the lawyers decide they can't charge him. They let it go. It's during those days Izuku decides what he's going to do and works to file Legal Emancipation papers to be declared a legal adult. He succeeds thanks to having access to Giran's money and resources. He moves out and into an apartment he pays for using Giran's money. He sets it up as his base of operations and begins moving again. Shigaraki gets rescued from the hospital by All for One before Izuku can get him assassinated. Thus begins the war between Izuku and Shigaraki/All for One.

Thanks to Stain, Izuku is able to recruit Dabi and Sen (Who is secretly Todoroki Shoto. Write up for Sen found in [personal profile] icydoll's journal.), Mustard, Twice, Spinner, and Toga. Izuku manages to use them to sneak a spy into the ranks of the League of Villains, Dabi. Dabi fed information to Izuku about the League's members and their movements. It's when Izuku learns the villains are making a move to kidnap Bakugo that Izuku makes a serious move. He organizes his gang to move, using his information to try and discover where the camp is located. It was the only information Dabi didn't get him. Izuku, desperate to make sure he can find Bakugo, intercepts him on the way home. He plants a GPS tracker on the blond during their conversation.

The Training Camp goes from good to terrible as it does in canon. However, the presence of more villains offsets the fights; as Deku's gang interrupts the battles between villains and heroes. Mustard's poison gas is used to separate the villains and herd them into traps Deku planned for his gang. Deku, despite the obvious threat to his own operations, went himself. He trailed Bakugo using the GPS tracker he placed on his friend. In the end, a well placed throwing knife to Mr. Compress's arm saved Bakugo from being pulled into the portal. With their plan foiled, Deku and his gang escaped into the woods. He ordered all of his followers to not leave a single person behind and they succeeded. Several League of Villains members were arrested and Bakugo was safe.

Izuku was happy with the results. His identity stayed a secret and he protected Kaachan from the League of Villains. He'd won this battle. He would win the war.

The next battle came when Dabi slipped him information about a group the League was going to be reaching out to; the Yakuza group Shie Hassaikai and the Eight Expendables. Deku knew he needed to cultivate a relationship first and started his moves. He worked to schedule a meeting with Chisaki Kai, their leader, but the League beat him to it. He met with Chisaki after the League. He met with Chisaki face to face but the initial meeting didn't go well. Chisaki seemed closed off to the idea of working alongside Deku and his gang. Deku warned him working with the League would end badly as they had no principles. It would end badly for him and his entire organization. Deku left the meeting with information on Chisaki's mindset. Deku began to work on analyzing the Yakuza's movements using his other contacts and information his gang could secure. Thanks to one contact, he manged it discover the raid on Chisaki's estate in the works by Sir Nighteye. Realizing that was his chance, he sent his gang in during the fighting with three objectives.

1) Secure the Anti-Quirk Drug.

2) Secure Chisaki Kai and bring him back, alive.

3) Ensure the heroes obtain Eri.

His gang was confused as to why Deku didn't wish to capture Eri as well to produce more Anti-Quirk Drug. Deku refused to explain why and simply ordered them to follow his directions. The plan went off without a hitch. He obtained Chisaki and the Drug before the League could obtain either. Eri was delivered to the heroes as intended. Another loss for the League and a win for Deku. He met with Chisaki again, this time with the villain restrained and still injured. Deku made another attempt at a deal with Chisaki, this time he made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Chisaki could join his gang and help Deku with his goals or he could be thrown to the mercy of the heroes and the League. Chisaki, beaten and realizing Deku had outsmarted him, joined. He saw Deku, a Quirkless teenager, as someone who wasn't afflicted with the sickness of hero society. This teen who gathered villains who all understood the flaws and sickness of society, could help be a cure to those around him.

With Chisaki and his remaining resources, Izuku grew stronger.

He was sure, soon, he could really take the war to the League and All for One.
